The scientists of ITMO University have received a government award for training scientists, as well as presidential grants

The team of The International Research Centre for Nanophotonics and Metamaterials of ITMO University received the St. Petersburg government award for scientific provision of young specialists’ training in the field of metamaterial physics. In addition, this year three scientists of the university received presidential grants for research in the fields that are strategically important for the country. The presidential grant in the field of information and telecommunication systems and technologies was given to Sergey Kovalchuk, the Associate Professor of the High-Performance Computing Department, for conducting research on the topic "Methods and technologies for managing complex models using surrogate modeling approaches." The study is fundamental and is aimed at studying the possibility of automating management of various systems’ complex models.
